In the framework of the EU-funded project “Forêt et Changement Climatique au Congo”, implemented by CIFOR with some support from R&SD, a course in management, financial administration and accounting was delivered to 25 students enrolled in a master degree in management of biodiversity and sustainable forest management at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Kisangani.
The course has exposed students to the main concepts and cross-cutting disciplines used in business. Lectures, exercises and group assignments focused on micro and macro-economy, marketing, financial administration, accounting, human resources management, inventory management, etc.
The course also contributed to increase the capacities of the students for gathering, analyzing and rationally using information through a study case. Students also wrote a business plan about banana production and processing in DRC.
